There will come a point that serious relationships will be put towards the test, sometimes becoming so intimate that couples will soon want to take it to another level. While sex is not usually the immediate reason why people get into relationships, a lot have lead towards making sex a common happening for people who want to try out something more adventurous.

As a leader, and a lover, it is wise to know where you are coming from in relationships with people. As you know already from your reading, you can’t manage relationship if you can’t manage yourself. You can’t know someone else if you don’t know yourself. Otherwise, you will just be projecting onto people, and won’t know anything about your reality or your truth or love.

All emotion is only half the truth, an illusion; a complete lie. Life is balanced, we distort it by projecting out opinion onto it. We interpret it with our ego and spin it left or right and therefore emotionalise it. By emotionalising things, we can make it safe. And from a love aspect, then we see where we are – out of integrity – and could bring our ego back to balance, if we chose to.

I recently read a study that indicated that 91% of all people in relationships were not happy. Now I can't tell you if this percentage is true, if it is an accurate portrayal of the average relationship or an exaggeration to get people’s attention. I don't know the details or particulars of the study as they were not given in very much depth. But the fact remains, that if 91% of the people surveyed felt this way, can we assume that many other people in general who were not surveyed are not happy as well? I don’t like to make assumptions but this number is really scary.

Whatever I do - such as my work, my yoga, making love, meditation, working - I do with all my heart, wholeheartedly, by throwing myself away and letting life take its natural course completely. But if my manner becomes habitual or self righteous, then anything I do will be wrong. It will be good for nothing. It’s so tempting to take things easy once the ring is on your finger. So many of us decide that the hard work is done and that going forward a marriage doesn’t require any effort. One of the most common marriage problems is to just take a back seat, let life pass you by and assume that married life is for every no matter how little effort you make.
