The Marriage of BPM and Six Sigma
Companies are just discovering the benefits of combining BPM and Six Sigma. Ideal for enhancing the long-term performance of business processes, the BPM/Six Sigma union helps companies better characterize, understand, and manage entire value chains. It also helps companies improve control and predictability of corporate business processes and generate sustainable enterprise improvements in performance levels.BPM aligns processes across an enterprise using technologies to provide visibility and management at any point in a business process. BPM and associated technologies help model data flow, people, resources, and systems in an organization. They also help build or modify processes to better align enterprise systems with business objectives and market needs. Unfortunately, BPM lacks the analytical tools to solve difficult and complex process problems.Six Sigma, on the other hand, is a quality improvement and problem solving methodology. It has the tools necessary to solve the complex problems BPM can’t solve. Where Six Sigma falls short is in its ability to collect huge amounts of data across enterprises, the direct result of a lack of standardized process monitoring technology. Six Sigma also falls short in controlling business processes. It often uses manual methods and controls, which inhibit its ability to sustain long-term performance initiatives.Without BPM, Six Sigma may founder because executives lack the critical data needed to focus their efforts. Instead, the executives bounce all over the place looking for performance weaknesses, or they focus on areas where s

Payroll Service, Changing Providers - Chapter Two: What Should you Look for in a New Provider?
Service Technology Professionalism Cost Location Service. Can your new provider handle your unique needs? You can only ask. But don’t just take their word. Ask for references in your size and type of business. Smaller providers may only be able to get close but that is OK. You’re concerned about how, not what, service is provided. Ask the references for other reference back to the provided that they did not provide you with. That is where you may get your best information. But in all fairness, remember the old adage “You can’t make all of the people happy all of the time.”Technology. Is the provider up to date on payroll technology? It is hard for the major payroll providers to upgrade a system for hundreds of thousands of users. They will always be slower to change just because of size and inertia. The very small payroll service providers can’t afford the newest technology. You also don’t want bleeding edge technology just leading edge. Currently (and this changes all the time) you want to talk about paperless payroll, online payroll, payroll debit cards and employee self-service. There are other topics that will apply to your unique circumstances.Professionalism. How long as the company been in business? Are they a fly-by-night outfit and will disappear with your tax deposits. Do they have standing in the community? Are they an EFTPS batch filer meaning they have at least 100 clients they file tax deposits for?Do they have qualified payroll professionals and C
So you want to be a personal trainer. Or maybe you just want to be a better personal trainer. Right on, it's a pretty fun job. Not a lot of people get to say that they do their hobby for a living. However, as I'm sure a lot of you all ready know, there are some pretty crappy trainers out there floating around. This can be good or bad. Bad because we must battle these "experts" in the ongoing quest of informing the public with good information and trying to throw out the bad. Good because it means there's a lot of opportunity out there to step up to the plate and make a difference in people's lives and your own paycheck.

Let's start off with why there are so many bad trainers out there. Remember folks that personal training is a very infant industry that has seriously exploded in the last decade. As Americans get fatter and fatter and become more and more addicted to the cheeseburger and get more and more sedentary with each new technology they become in more and more dire need for help. What Are The Legitimate Work At Home Opportunities?
What are the legitimate work at home opportunities? Well that is simpler to answer than it is to tell you how to go about it.The first piece of advice is stay clear of data entry schemes, stuffing envelopes, and home assembly work all of these are scams one way or another. You may get paid a little but it is impossible to earn anything like a decent income without working 16 hours a day 7 days a week, and I assume since your interested in legitimate work at home opportunities then something that attracted you was to chance to work your own hours. These schemes are no better than working for an employer but for less money.Enough about those methods though, what are the legitimate work at home opportunities? Well there are 3 methods which are legitimate and do work. They are-1. Paid surveys 2. Dropshipping/wholesaling 3. Affiliate MarketingNow you know the legitimate work at home opportunities where do you find them? First I should warn you although these are legitimate work at home opportunities not all those that offer them are genuine. Paid surveys is a good example, of the sites offering paid surveys the average research figures show upto 85% of them are scams. Wholesaling can also be a world full of pitfalls, if you don't get a little advice such as a trustworthy wholesaler list, you can loose a lot of money. Affiliate marketing isn't so much a scam but more a case of poor guidance. You will not manage to be successful in affiliate marketing without some sort of guide, which will set you back a small investment, however not all the guides are well

Should You Use Resume Distribution Services To Get Sales Jobs?
The best targets for a professional sales job search will always be the people who make final hiring decisions, i.e., the direct supervising sales managers. The further removed the targets are from the sales managers such as recruiters, headhunters and human resources staff, the more distant targets become for individuals hoping to get corporate sales jobs. There are numerous resume distribution services to shotgun resumes to all sorts of recruiters, human resources people and other targets that are distant from the sales managers. These distribution services try to convince their clients that having their resumes blasted all over online is a step in the right direction towards landing professional sales positions. The real question is whether candidates are really better off by using such resume distribution services. Let’s put it this way, the resume distribution services are available to anyone who is willing to pay whether they have the job qualifications or not. Clients using these services will be just like all others who pay to get their resumes sent out there and there will be lots of folks in the same boat. It’s an easy way to get resumes out and as a result, everyone will be doing the same thing.Rather than separating oneself from the rest of the crowd as one should be doing for an effective job hunt, one will just be caught in the masses of all others who are also getting their resumes distributed in the same way. The recipients of these resumes, who are usually not the sales managers, will still get flooded with piles and piles of resumes. We all kno

    New England and Economic Recovery
New England area is experiencing some good economic rebounding finally. Those markets, which involve larger consumer items are finding life a little tough, smaller manufacturers are waiting for orders and everyone is waiting on cash flow in the New England rural areas and cities under 150,000 which is nearly every city in NH, VT and ME and that 85% of the cities (calling a city that which is over 10K pop.) in CT, RI and MA. In some NH cities those involved in custom manufacturing are talking in terms of a “Train Wreck” when discussing the economic calamity. They were being promised by the Democrats who wanted a good showing in the NH primaries complete economic recovery, not sure how that was going to happen. Why is politics so important to these issues? Well because the rhetoric and bullshit has a lot to do with consumer sentiment and spending behavior. Since Summer is here now the New England area is happy to have the big events such as Bike Week, which brings in 2 million dollars to local rural areas. The forth of July will also help out. The charge of customers always come out of the wood work for Memorial Day with excellent cooperation on weather. One regional factory store group has been very excited as were the regional malls and Lobster tail and hotdog carts on board walks and tourist areas. The restaurants have not seen a huge rebound and the hotel industry now that weather is better are feeling a little safer but they feel that the uncertainty is the worst. Also of note are the low interest rates for high priced and well established consumer items such as housing, second homes,

How To Build A Global Brand
One of the most exciting efficiencies in business is the Global Brand. A global brand allows tremendous economies of scale, especially in marketing communications investments. However, these economies of scale can only be achieved, if brand impact is not sacrificed in the process.Doesn’t this seem to be a contradiction in terms? How can Brand, which is typically optimized for a specific market and a specific offering be implemented across widely different countries and work equally hard for all of the markets and for all of the offerings? After all, countries are different. They have different histories and cultures. So a brand that is designed for one country may is typically not suitable for another. Is it at all possible to overcome this problem? How do we build a global brand without making it unsuitable for some markets?Yes. It is possible. It requires a great deal more discipline, both for developing the brand positioning architecture that is suitable for all countries, and for developing the brand design elements and brand communications in each country for each product offering. Let us make it difficult, by developing a global positioning for a brand that is associated with such different product offerings in different countries, and support it with brand design elements and brand communications that can harness local cultural idioms. The foundation of a global brand positioning must penetrate below all the layers of cultural differences to foundational human values and aspirations. Every global brand architecture has four levels of thrust.1.
ecome more and more addicted to the cheeseburger and get more and more sedentary with each new technology they become in more and more dire need for help. Every January 1st millions of Americans vow to change their lifestyles and bodies, but how many people actually do it? As we creep up on 2007 I'm sure several folks will make this pledge for possibly the 10th time in their lives. We are so sedentary it is seriously ridiculous. C'mon, even if you have a cubicle job and it's likely your chair has WHEELS on it so you don't even need to stand up anymore! You can just roll around from one side of the cubicle to the other. And how many of us have seen people cruise the parking lot outside of the gym looking for a front row parking spot just so they can go in and walk on a treadmill?

This exploding demand has not been met with adequate supply. Unlike doctors, lawyers, teachers, and police officers who have all been around for centuries and whose professions have been ironed out by time, personal trainers have not had the same tenure. Granted there ar
