    Go to Yahoo Search Marketing and open the Keyword Selector Tool. Enter your main keyword in the box and click on the arrow. You'll then see phrases and numbers. You will likely see there are a lot of searches for the main keyword phrase but that there are also targeted searches on smaller topics and keywords where demand is not too high but there is a lot less competition.

    You can generally multiply the number by 3 to get a rough idea of how many searches that word or phrase is getting on Google.

    Copy the top 6-10 keywords in a text file.

    You may notice a market with very low competition which could be very lucrative. If you know how to promote to this market you should do quite well.

    Set up your Google Adwords account at the Google Adwords home page. Select Standard and Continue.

    Step 1: Choose the languages you want to target.

    Step 2: Write your ad

    Step 3: Click Continue

    Step 4: Enter Your Keywords

    Step 5: Set your budget (start small when starting out. If you are just starting out with Adwords then you can set your daily bid amount to just $5.00 or $10.00 a day.

    Step 6: Set the maximum cost per click. As with step 5, start small and work your way up once the campaign is profitable.

    Step 7: Review your account.

    Once you have entered your payment information your ads will start showing up on Google virtually immediately. In fact, in the time it's taken you to read this article you could have created an Adwords campaign.
