    Why Do People Write eBooks?
Have you ever considered why people write eBooks? Well as a co-author for a Business How To Book and several of the new and much popular eBooks, I had never really considered what prompts people to write them. Even as a author of such, I never really realized the point at which the decision was actually made.Recently I was reminded of how these things come to be when discussing a topic online with an entre

Same thing with list building. There is a fundamental difference in the skill level of the marketer who has a list of 50,000 and gets 100 new subscribers per day and the marketer who has a list of 500-1000 and gets 5-10 new subscribers a day.

Think about email responses. Is it luck or skill that some people can write email headlines that consistently, long term, have open rates over 25%, and others cannot get open rates greater than 10%? Of course it is skill based. If the marketer who consistently gets

    Marcomm - What's That
I’ve been a “marcom” professional for more years than I care to admit. And to this day, when asked what I do for a living, marcom elicits a quizzical look, or a hmmmm, or simply the next question in the series, “what’s that.”Say you are a crisis manager, teacher or even a publicist, and the questions end there – the name pretty much communicates the job description. Not so with a marcom professional. So you need to assess yourself. Are you willing to do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes, to make the internet pay off? If you are not, then whatever expectation you have for the internet is probably too high.

You should only enter the internet with an expectation that is in line with your own commitment level. It would be better to enter the internet market with the expectation that it will only serve as a hobby, and end up making $500 extra per month, than to enter it thinking that you will be fulltime in 3 months, and end up only making $500 per month. If you have some experience, and are willing to work 20-30 hours per week, and are willing to buy some instructional materials and perhaps some coaching, then you might be able to set a goal of making an extra $500 per month in several months. And if it ends up being double or triple that, then that is a good thing. But if it does not, you are not trying to live on your savings, completely frustrated.

    Importance of Long Term Commitment

You need to have the mental fortitude to say that you will do whatever it takes, for as along as it takes, to gain the necessary skill set to excel online.

    Importance of Ongoing Education

Your ability to earn money online will only grow in proportion to the skill set you obtain. Like I have said before, there is always the possibility of beginners’ luck, of creating an awesome product right out of the gate, and having one strong product that makes you some nice income right off the bat. But long term, the money you make online will be in proportion to the skills you develop.

There is nothing lucky about making money online in the long run.

Everything you do online is skill based. Think about it one step at a time. The craft of putting up a web site and structuring it is a skill. Sending traffic to your website will be a skill. Why do some web sites have only 50 visitors a day and others have 50,000 a day? Do you really think it is luck? If you were to do the exact same things that the web site with more traffic does, do you think you would have the same amount of traffic that you do now? Of course not. You would have the same level of traffic as the bigger site, if you did exactly the same thing as the bigger site does.

How to Spot New Internet Business Opportunities without Losing Your Focus
Anyone who has done business online will tell you, it can be overwhelming! The rapid pace of change and the constant inflow of new information and new business opportunities are both exciting, AND can also be very distracting! If you have too many "irons in the fire" then you dilute the effectiveness of your time and your marketing. Many internet business beginners make this mistake and then wonder why th

What Every Ezine Owner Should Know About Unsold Ad Space
The deadline approaches and your ad STILL has not sold. What are you going to do? Many publishers would leave the ad unsold, but some publishers have found “insider” ways to make money with their hard-to-sell ads.Let’s face it, if the ad is unused at publication, you have made zero dollars. I'd rather have a money saver or a potential money-maker in the ad slot than nothing at all.You have four gr

Simple Money Machines- A Concise Review
If you are interested in developing a serious income online, but you lack the skill set necessary to do so, then I may have a solution for you. Over the past few years I have tried just about every possible system out there to make money online, from using EBay to actually trying to create my own product. The results? Nada, nothing, zilch! Thousands of dollars latter I found myself just giving up. I received
the same thing as the bigger site does.

Think about email responses. Is it luck or skill that some people can write email headlines that consistently, long term, have open rates over 25%, and others cannot get open rates greater than 10%? Of course it is skill based. If the marketer who consistently gets 25% open rates were to begin to write the headlines for the currently 10% open rate campaign, the email rates would go up. Maybe not to 25%, if the list is too badly damaged, but his skill set would enable him to write email headlines that would compel more people to open the emails.

This principle can be seen in just about any other form of web activity. If you develop the skill, you will be able to make more money on one aspect of web business than someone who has not developed the skill.
