How to Build a Search Engine
This program started out as a simple text search. The flowchart, to do the line wrap and match hi-lights took 3 days. It worked like a charm. (see the links to these charts below)Step 1 complete. Search and display text results.Next was the ability to search text and call up pictures. When a match was found on a line and the following line had the path to a picture, then that picture was displayed. We scanned in and cataloged 5000+ family pictures and used that as a test base.Changes were made so the search could run as a screen saver. Then with a random option, because sequential became boring fast. Then came VIDEO and Music. Being able to start and stop anywhere in a video clip, slow motion and freeze frame are the m
siness opportunity to the next until you know what business model you're going to go into. When you do this "jumping", you're never going to be able to accomplish anything.

The business model you will have to adapt can be anything from retailing physical or digital products online, affiliate marketing or any form of it, but what matters is for you to focus your energies into building this one business model and making it work. Much more important is making it work NO

    Global Reactions to Our Approach
It was a noble effort, even if I was naive. Last week I returned from a thirty-day trip to Germany, China, Singapore, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. In each country, I led Skilled Facilitator workshops. Some of you reading this participated in these workshops. For years, my clients have asked, "What do people outside the United States think about The Skilled Facilitator approach? Can it work in Europe and Asia, especially given the emphasis on saving face? How?" I set out on my trip, naively thinking that I could come back with ready answers. I have begun to form some answers; but mostly, I have developed more questions. If I have learned anything on the trip, it's that the issue of using the Skilled Facilitator approach in different cultures is a complex one. Mast
Internet marketing, when done improperly can be very tricky. Actually, for all intents and purposes if you're not doing it right you're throwing away either quality time, hard-earned money, or both.

Before entering the online business scene it will serve you well to keep in mind some pertinent questions that can help you focus on the things you should be doing in order to always further your business goals.

I can think of four questions that can help you spell 'success' with your business venture online, simply because the answers will always serve as a 'reality check' on whether or not you're going the right way, or if you're already 'lost in the forest'.

Addressing the answers to these questions can help you correct any deviations you're experiencing or will experience with your online undertaking.

So let's see what they are, shall we?

    The Four Questions:

    1. What is the right way to start an online business right now?

    2. What should you be selling on the internet?

    3. What specific strategies, methods, programs online really work, and which ones should you be using for your own set of circumstances?

    4. How do I know whether your business is improving or not?

Let's go into some more detail about these questions:

THE RIGHT WAY TO START YOUR BUSINESS: If you're new to starting an online business you're probably becoming aware that if you're unable to control the number of information and offers that come your way you're going to suffer information overload. You reach a point where the number of choices just overwhelms you that you're undecided on what to do.

For a time it may even seem as if all the online "business opportunities" presented to you (or which you come across on the internet) are all good and worthy of your purchase. Beware! Starting your legitimate business right means not jumping from one business opportunity to the next until you know what business model you're going to go into. When you do this "jumping", you're never going to be able to accomplish anything.

The business model you will have to adapt can be anything from retailing physical or digital products online, affiliate marketing or any form of it, but what matters is for you to focus your energies into building this one business model and making it work. Much more important is making it work NOW

    Marketing Your Service Business
Marketing any business is a science professional marketers follow to get results. There are three principles that are most important to the small business owner and should be adopted and used in your small business marketing:1. Benefits - Most people make the mistake of telling everyone the features of their business. This is not what your customers are looking for. They want to know why they should give you the job and not your competition.2. Business Purpose - Are you sure you understand what your business purpose is? Most people start a business to make money. But your real job is to satisfy your customer needs.3. Market Testing - Most small business owners run advertising because they've heard that's what you do to get customers. Bu

    The Death of Common Sense
There has been a death in our society that has yet to be noticed; the death of common sense. I discovered that common sense is kind of hard to define because everyone seems to have a different idea of what it is and what isn’t. Here’s my take on it: Common sense is native good judgment derived from experience based on the “reasonable person standard”. What would the average, reasonable person do in a situation?Common sense is a funny thing. We admire people who have a strategic mind, a flair for style, or vast creativity. We rarely admire someone for his or her common sense. It’s the unsung hero of attributes. We seem to assume that everyone has it and is actively using it in the foundation of their actions, decisions and behaviors. And so we take it for granted

How to Get Those First 100 Visitors to Your Blog
I monitor a lot of blogs, forums and news sites with my trusty RSS reader. One of my favorite sites is SitePoint, which is a terrific discussion forum for webmasters, programmers and domain name investors.I’ve had some great conversations on the forums and via IM that have been very enlightening. In a recent post, one of the SitePoint forum guys was lamenting the fact that he was having trouble getting to 100 unique visitors per day. There was some good, solid advice that I would like to share and build upon:1. Make sure your posts are optimized with popular keywords. I would be careful with this one because you don’t want to lose your blogging voice or make your pages read awkwardly by jamming in as many keywords as you can. Do check for the most p

    Five Benefits of Email Marketing
If you’re already using email marketing, then you know that it is a very cost-effective way to communicate with your customers and prospective customers. Email is fast, inexpensive, and quite easy to use as a marketing strategy, which could be why it has become so popular with companies of all sizes. There are many tangible, measurable benefits to email marketing, but here are five benefits that are particularly noteworthy:Boost Your Bottom Line – Studies show that the average consumer needs to hear or see your message about seven times before he or she will buy from you. That’s a lot of repetition! With email marketing, you can create marketing campaigns consisting of a series of emails to reinforce your message and build your brand so that when they are ready to buy

The business model you will have to adapt can be anything from retailing physical or digital products online, affiliate marketing or any form of it, but what matters is for you to focus your energies into building this one business model and making it work. Much more important is making it work NOW, not when "the conditions are right", or when the "timing's perfect". If you wait for that time to arrive it'll never come, and the internet is going to leave you behind.

WHAT SHOULD YOU SELL ON THE INTERNET? The internet has been dubbed as the information superhighway, so naturally people who surf the net are looking for information. So what's the best thing to sell on an information superhighway? You got it--information. Not just any type, mind you, but specialized information that a specific target market is yearning to know about.

Somehow, somewhere you might have specialized work or a hobby you're passionate for that others may not know of but are greatly interested in. Specialized information that you are an "expert" of and which is in high demand by a sizeable target market is a good formula for a profitable online business.

SPECIFIC STRATEGIES, METHODS TO USE: Whether you're aiming to do your marketing using paid advertisements, search engine optimization for high search engine rankings, or growing an opt-in list using a newsletter subscription or free product giveaways, the methods you use should appeal to your market's human nature, and should answer their question of "What's In It For Me"?

There are numerous ways in which you can do this, and for your protection I will mention some of the ways I've experienced online that were ineffective for my business purposes and frankly was a waste of my time and money: MLM networking, bulk email lists, misleading data entry work, paid surveys online (won't make you rich, and surveys are few and far between), randomizers, doorway generators, cloaking (could have you banned from search engines),blasting my website URL (address) to 10,000 search engines or so (only 3 major ones are excellent, and about 50 more are good but interrelated anyway), guaranteed 100,000 hits to my website (differentiate hits fr
