Why Taking Care of Cleaning Equipment Adds to the Bottom Line
Taking good care of your cleaning equipment not only extends the life of your machines, but it saves you money too. Cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffing machines, and automatic scrubbers can last years longer with the proper care. Caring for your cleaning equipment also shows your clients that you are a professional and you are serious when it comes to making their buildings look good! Proper maintenance of equipment helps to assure that your machine is available when you need it and will help to avoid those unexpected equipment breakdowns.Preventative maintenance is the best practice for your cleaning machines. Your maintenance program should start when you buy a new piece of equipment. Although very few people actually do it, begin by reading the owner's manual. It will give you tips on operating the equipment as well as important advice on how to best maintain the equipment. With most

    Retiring in Paradise
I have to admit that I’m starting to slow down a bit. I am definitely in my final career – and quite comfortable working a 40 hour schedule. I even take a day off here and there to golf/ bike/ ski, although I’m thinking of selling my windsurfing equipment .For the past two years I have been looking for a spot in paradise to retire to in five years or so - and I think I found it!I have been traveling all over the Western US looking for the perfect spot to retire. But my idea of retiring is not the same as my Dad’s - and then again, maybe it is. Let me explain. My Dad had a pre-WWII high school education. He worked in government service for 30 years. He grumbled about his job the whole time – that is until the last few years. In his last assignment, he finally found a role that made him happy. He was mentoring a group of programmers as they built a new system for the stat
In this paper I will cover the internet’s experimental beginnings, the commercialization of this technology in the present, and what the project that is taking place that will probably be the future of the internet.

Before I begin talking about the internet, allow me to define what is the internet, who governs it, and what is the financial impact of this technology. The internet is made up of all computer networks that use IP protocol, which operate to form a seamless network for their collective users.[3 Krol] This means that federal, commercial, and institutional networks all compose parts of the internet. This network is connected to each other by either telephone wires, cable lines, or satellite signals. These wires, lines, or signals are then pipelined from server computer to server computer until your host server transmits the electronic information into your computer. The governing body of the internet is the Internet Society (ISOC).[4 Krol] The Internet Society purpose, according to Ed Krol, is to “promote global information exchange through Internet technology”. Strategic Planning - The Reality of Making It Work
There's often a gap between the theory and principles behind strategic planning, and the reality of business life, and planning. Here are a few things to keep in mind before, during and after the planning process. It's Non-Linear!Models of strategic planning sometimes suggest that the process is logical, rational, and linear...where each step follows the previous one. In reality, this isn't the case...or at least not the whole story. Sometimes you will find that something you generate in a later step must be fed back to a step that you already finished. That's normal. Sometimes strategic planning can work in a straight line, and sometimes it works in loops. It's a Human Endeavor!Strategic planning is a process carried out by people with different opinions, and different perceptions of which "facts" are valid and relevant. Again, it is a process that isn't qu

Internal IT Departments are (almost) Dead - Long Live the Service Provider
Working in an internal IT department has its benefits. If a company has one at all, it is an indication of its revenue, after all IT staff aren't cheap. One could take this a step further and make the assumption that the package is likely to be competitive, relative to the market, and include such things as car allowance, interest free loans and medical cover for you and the family. Sounds pretty good doesn't it(?). What I think is missing though is the client to service provider relationship. The IT department is part of the furniture of the organisation, it has a monopoly on IT services within the company. Let's explore this a little. Having an internal monopoly is bad for all parties. Think of the employee, almost without realising it he/she has limited their exposure to technology and the application of it. Of course they have, they are only going to be implementing within this single company

Five Tips To Improve Your Resume
Why is it that although most of us know to write we hate doing our own resume? I think it goes back to unhappy writing experiences at school or college. Most of us resented the discipline needed to create good writing. We wanted writing to be like conversation. We didn't like proof reading for errors and editing to gain clarity.Although there is a 5 per cent group who naturally love writing, like public speaking most of us would prefer if someone else did the task of writing.Your resume, however,is a very powerful tool in projecting on paper what you as a person can do. It is like your personal ad. It is worth working on.Your first tip-- Always have a job objective. The first thing the reader must see after your personal info is the position you are looking for. This shows a potential employer that you are clear about your career goals and know exactly what you want in the job world.

Work at Home Jobs Vs Self Employment
Work at Home Jobs vs Owning a Home Based BusinessNot everyone is interested in owning their own home business, but a lot of people are interested in dropping out of the rat race a little bit. More and more jobs are available where you can work from home. And since your productivity will probably be better working from home, you'll probably make more money. The other advantage is that it doesn't cost as much money to work from home, since you no longer have commuting expenses, lunches out expenses, or the same clothing expenses. These are big advantages.Just because you don't want to own your own home based business doesn't mean you can't work from home. All it involves in a change in mindset and some effort.Recommended ReadingIf you're interested in learning more about this way of thinking, there are a few books you should probably take a lo

This IAB board governs the protocol standards whereby how computers and software applications talk to each other.[6 ibid] They also make the rules on how to keep track of each 32-bit address number used by each computer on the internet. The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) is the governing body who takes care of operational and near-tearm technical problems of the internet.[7 ibid]

Along with all conveniences, there is a price to pay. Though information could be obtained from the internet for free, everyone has to pay for their own access to it. Just like NSF pays for NSFNET and NASA pays for NASA Science Internet, individuals pay their Internet Service Provider and their telephone company for access to the internet.[8 ibid] As Ed Krol in said in The Whole Internet User’s Guide, ”everyone pays for their part.”
