Joining Industry Specific Organizations Has Many Benefits
Recently, while providing an up-and-coming Virtual Assistant (VA) and small business owner with some start-up information, she asked me a very interesting question, “Why do you and other VA’s join organizations?”I guess I take for granted the reasons why I belong to several industry specific organizations. But, to those that are new to any industry, joining an organization made up of your competitors is a valid concern. Some organizations have members that are from a variety of walks of life (i.e. small business organizations, etc.) while

    Face The Fear, Ladies
Okay, I’ll begin by telling you that I’ve been divorced for about 5 years, have an amazing family and by anyone’s standards, I have a wonderful life.I worked in the film industry for almost 9 years for my ex-husband’s company. But when we split, I had the dire task of figuring out just what else I was supposed to do, having worked in that industry for his company for the duration of our relationship, here I was, having to think about finding a job. A what? I was totally clueless. Where would I start? I’m the first to admit that I’m probably not
Ladies and gentleman, meet Mo, Larry, and Curly Entrepreneur. These fine fellows are here today to help answer the age old question: Why do some entrepreneurs achieve stellar success while others achieve only moderate success while still others fail in business miserably?

To level the playing field let’s pretend that each of our wily entrepreneurs all started their businesses on the exact same day, selling the exact same product at the exact same price. Let’s also pretend that they started their businesses from identical locations, with the exact same resources and funding, and with the exact same opportunities and odds for success. Even when starting from the same place at the same point in time with the same resources and same opportunities, the results vary widely; some entrepreneurs succeed in an amazing way and others do not.

Why then does one entrepreneur, in this case Curly because he is my favorite Stooge, reach the stars while most Stooges never make it off the ground? Why does Curly get to give the crowd a "Woop, woop, woop!" while accepting the Chamber’s Small Business of the Year Award while Mo and Larry have to work as waiters at the event to help pay their bills? Great questions, but before we explore the answers let’s tak

How to Sell Advertising - A 'Clever' Way That You May Not Have Used Before!
Matching and MirroringNeuro-linguistic programs teach you a lot about the psychology of selling and it’s worth your while reading a book on this subject, or studying a tape. Matching and mirroring is one concept I believe you should adopt in a sales process. First of all, if you have several staff, try to use the salesperson that is closest to the customer’s age (and sometimes gender) because people tend to buy from people who are seven years on either side of their age, older or younger. This means a 27-year old is much more likely to make a pu

Can You Make Money Drop Shipping?
Drop shipping is a very simple way to make money using the internet. There is very little risk or capital investment required when setting up but, understandably for a business that promises easy money, there is a lot of competition. All you need to do, is to advertise a product that you don't have in stock, take orders from customers and pass them on to the wholesaler. The products are then dispatched by the wholesaler, leaving you to pocket the difference between the retail and wholesale price. There are many internet outlets offering you the c

Real Estate Postcard Ideas - The Information Epicenter
The desire for valuable information is a powerful motivator that real estate agents can use to their advantage. Want an example? Here's a way to use information to improve your real estate postcard program. The Postcard Premise The idea here is to create an online real estate resource center for your particular community or town, and then point to it with your real estate farming postcards. By having a variety of lead-generation tactics in place on the website, you could ultimately make contact with visitors. The Resource Web

Great questions, but before we explore the answers let’s take it a step further. Let’s vary the equation since no two business startups are ever really the same. Could the difference in the level of success achieved be a result of the amount of financial backing each Stooge had? Could it be that one entrepreneur was simply smarter than the others (probably not in Curly’s case)? Or perhaps it was just good old dumb luck that made the difference. Or maybe God was just tired of Mo and Larry pushing Curly around and punished them with failing businesses akin to Lot’s House of Salt.

Stooges aside, there is a very simple reason some entrepreneurs do amazingly well in business while others do not. It has nothing to do with product or location or backing or education or street smarts or dumb luck.

It’s because those who succeed in an amazing way are willing to do whatever it takes - for as long as it takes - to make their dreams come true. Those who are unwilling to do whatever it takes will ultimately fail. That’s it, end of story, thank you, drive thr
