Only a few strong-willed people follow their calling not paying attention to any of advice, orders and other factors. These brave people are more likely to be

Why Hire a Consultant - The New Return on Investment
You're a small business owner, you do considerably well for yourself. Your business is profitable, it's not a Fortune 1,000 company, but it's not losing money either. So why would you need a consultant? What would be the point because apparently you are doing well enough on your own? Let me answer you question, it's because you're not a Fortune 1,000 company. Funny thing is, even global
Commitment, focus and an action plan are essential components for getting to your goals. Why is that? In my job as a coach I work a lot with small business owners whose success is entirely dependent upon getting to their goals. And so many times their goals are delayed or deferred or reduced or even forgotten. What makes this happen? Often goals are chosen because they are need to or have to. This makes sense in business and in life but there is often a missing ingredient - commitment! What is commitment? It is that part of our brain that takes the need to and want to and converts them to planned reality. To a place where you accept the work and the effort and have the desire to achieve the goal and you are able to see it, feel it, taste it.

If you choose to reframe your attitude to goal setting then it is no longer a burden or a pressure it is a step towards the future you are building. It has effort in it but also fun and satisfaction. So the commitment is positive. You know you will start it and you know you will achieve it. So the commitment is not to your goal but to yourself. It is a product of your belief that you are worthy of success, your confidence and your zeal.

Sometimes the goal just clicks into place and it happens, this is when you celebrate and acknowledge what you have done. Other times it is less easy and the 'gremlins' we have tucked away tell us things like "that will never happen", "it didn't work last time", "you've never run a business before","it feels a bit risky", "only successful people do that" and on and on. We all have gremlins somewhere in some aspect of our lives.

How do we deal with the gremlin? Two main choices: One, Get a Coach or two, Self Coach. To self coach:

    • Focus on goals that fit your experience and skill set
    • Select goals that are a manageable size. If your goal is big - break it down into bite sized chunks e.g. increase sales/income by 50% can sensibly be broken down to 5 phases of 10%.
    • Success builds on earlier success so recall the things you have succeeded in - no matter how small. Our brains are not dumb they work on positive evidence

What Are The Legitimate Work At Home Opportunities?
What are the legitimate work at home opportunities? Well that is simpler to answer than it is to tell you how to go about it.The first piece of advice is stay clear of data entry schemes, stuffing envelopes, and home assembly work all of these are scams one way or another. You may get paid a little but it is impossible to earn anything like a decent income without working 16 hour

If you find yours - give it a name, acknowledge it and tell it your plans. Your commitment can be enough to show it the door. (I know this is true I have my own - I'll tell you its name in part 3)
