    Finding the Real Decision Maker
The MAN is the person or group of people with the Money, Authority and Need - the decision maker with the ability to say "yes" to your proposition. Many salespeople spend endless hours with people who can't say "yes". The can't because they have neither their hands on the purse strings, the authority or the position to understand what their company or organisation really needs. There are few situations in sales that are more complex and easier to botch than the unreachable committee. In no other area will your sensitivity to small clues and the subtle nuances of power be better rewarded.Organisations have purchasing procedures that in

The Power of a Marketing and Sales System
Where Do Most of Your Clients Come From? When I meet people for the first time and they understand that I'm a marketing consultant, I'm frequently asked, "Where do most of your clients come from?" Many times I believe the question is asked innocently enough. But, quite often I feel like the person asking wants to know if I have a magic answer that might work for them. Most small business owners are passionate about the services they provide - not the marketing it takes to consistently find more clients. Many service businesses will admit that they're not really sure what works best or how to get going with marketing. The

Suppliers as Your Partners in Cost Reduction
This article is one of the many articles still to come in which I will discuss very basic yet proven techniques that you could use immediately in your encounters with your suppliers.Oh but wait, to find any value in this article, you must be a firm believer that Purchasing strategies have evolved from just 1) focusing on price and 2) focusing on quality, reliability, responsiveness and total cost to a much broader focus of building supplier relationships.Did you know that for each $1.00 you save in your “total cost of ownership” reduction efforts, you will improve your bottom line profitability by $1.00? And did you also know that most co

    MLM Companies Beware
The first woman to rise to the top in 4 1/2 months in her short lived network marketing career was "rocking and rolling" in a fraudulent manner. When you are caught with your hand in the cookie jar, why wouldn't the company terminate someone for that?I'm glad to see that this company has a firm hand when someone scams them. Why do you think that rules are set in place by companies? This person hurt a lot of people in her "rocking and rolling" months and had so many complaints to headquarters in her short time in moving up. So many complaints of how she was conducting her business and what she was doing to get what she needed out of her down

The Secret War in the Office - Part Three
Do you know where in the office the most rumors are put out? It’s in the coffee kitchen! This is a place to gather in a company and you can learn a lot there. It is also the place where often mobbing starts. It is a place where employees feel kind of safe and not watched. There is a rule of thumb here: The worse the working atmosphere in the company the more frequented the coffee kitchens are.Management is always suspicious when watching employees gathering in small groups all over the place with their coffee mugs in their hands and chatting. But there is an amazing discovery made by observant consultants: The most crucial information you won’t g

    Organizational Cultural Shift
I worked for a respected pharmaceutical sales and marketing organization during years of rapid growth and expansion. The "driving rule" of behavior for this company was to "compete" and "perform" better than everyone else. This focus on competition drove the entire organization to excellence as they used this strength to influence hospitals, governments and insurers to use their products and drove improvement within the organization. Top performers were rewarded with many rewards and recognitions. Those who didn't perform were replaced with those who would. This culture helped attract and develop people who were competitive and driven for success.<
