, but beyond that? No, the best thing to do is appreciate the here and the now. That is what we have. That is what God has given us.

This is a fitness site, and sometimes the things I write about have less to do with fitness and more to do with life. Still, in the spirit of fitness, why not apply the same philosophy mentioned above to your health? Approach each day with the commitment that you are going to be the best you can be today. Take it one day at a time. If you want to change your body, do it one day at a time. Your diet? Do it one day at a time, etc.

Make a plan, yes. Plan into the future, yes. But make a commitment to follow through on your plan one day at a time. Make this a lifestyle change, not a yearly resolution. Commit to this for life. Live each day to the best of your ability and if you are not able to do that, get the support you need in order to enable yourself to do that. 2007 is upon us now. As I type this, I can remember just how it felt to me in 1999 around this time, as 2000 approached. That moment in time was a milestone to me. Even now the year 2000 feels like a watershed moment to me.

2000. Incredible. And yet, as incredible as that milestone in time was/is, it is now dwarfed by newer, impending watershed moments in time. The year 2010 is literally around the corner. And, after that 2020. 2030. Maybe 2040, if I live another 34 years. Does it not just boggle the mind?

I can remember when I was a kid, watching a SciFi show called Space 1999. The show aired in the mid-seventies. The underlying premise centered on the plight of a group of scientists living on a moon base, when an accidental nuclear explosion hurls the moon out of it's orbit, deep into deep space. The show followed the exploits of the moon base team as they encounter alien life, got into fights, had sex etc. All of America was enthralled by the show because, aside from being a good show, for the most part none of us actually imagined that 1999 was achievable. It seemed so far off, so unattainable. And the show had a very futuristic feel because of that.

Now, here we are in 2007 actually planning colonies on the moon. I am an adult now, having lived 44 years more than I had a right to considering the fact that I was born with a pretty serious medical condition. All the years that, as a child, I imagined were so far off in the distance are actually behind me now, and I look forward to a new future with a new perspective. It is very exciting indeed. I wonder just what the future could possibly hold for me; for any of us. For all of us.

Yes, it is pretty exciting alright. It is also frightening.

I lived through the Cold War, with it's threats of nuclear annihilation and all of the uncertainties that came with that. I remember how that felt. And I can honestly tell you that the threats we faced then, while real, were nothing compared to the threats we as a nation face now. Moreover, the threats that the world faces are far more grave than the threats faced decades ago.

We live in very perilous times. Sides have been chosen, lines have been drawn, enemies have declared themselves and the writing is literally on the pages of an ancient book that foretold the very days in which we now find ourselves living. Blood is being shed in the Middle East, only now it involves not just Israel and one of her enemies, but the USA as well. And the blood that is now being shed will be but a grain of sand should certain events unfold and the unthinkable happen. Of course, I refer to what many theologians refer to as Armageddon.

So, while I look to the future with anticipation and excitement, that feeling of hopeful expectancy is tempered with am ominous feeling of dread. Do you feel that too, or is it just me? The question is how to deal with the ominous feelings of dread that I am almost certain many of you struggle with. If one is not careful, that feeling of dread can freeze you. It can stop you in your tracks and prevent you from living. It can happen. And I think that is a risk for many of us.

In my view, the best way to deal with those ominous feelings when they come upon you is not to ignore them, but to challenge them and to be determined to a) live as though there is a tomorrow and b) live each day to the best of your ability. What do I mean by that? Well, I mean be the best father you can be today. Be the best husband or wife you can be today. Be the best friend, brother or sister you can be today. And make a commitment to live each day that way.

It is folly to look too far into the future. Moreover it is folly to look to far into the past. All we really have is now. Maybe we have tomorrow, but beyond that? No, the best thing to do is appreciate the here and the now. That is what we have. That is what God has given us.

Many online article submission websites are Free to Post your articles on and in doing so many online article authors are happy to do this. But post many articles requires much time and recently I have written a number of articles and found that it took a long time to post them and then I go to thinking about the entire process and the tediousness of it all.For the fun of it I set out to write 100 articles between Friday at 5 pm and Saturday at Midnight and I was able to pull it off and accomplish that goal I set. Your Words Matter
Amidst much groaning and moaning, we carried one of our two kayaks from the bayside of the key to the beach—two hundred yards of sweat and hand chafing. Loaded down with paddles and life preservers, we herded the kids to water’s edge.Captain Linus on the bow, oarsman Dad behind him, first mate Camille next in line and oarswoman Mom at the stern—into the waves we surged. After a few wobbly moments in the break, the crew settled. We began to scour the depths for the Gulf’s finest—cow rays, turtles, fish of assorted sizes and our family favorite—dolphin.“Look, Momma,” squealed Camille.eel that too, or is it just me?
