It is no secret that communication is key to survival for small business. The advantage to small busineses of using a VoIP solution is that the market is very competitive. While there are relatively few companies from which to choose for normal phone service, many VoIP providers will gladly offer VoIP phone service at a very competitive rate and with unlimited long distance.But....you need to do your homework first.Phone service features indispensable to your business, such as voicemail, conferencing and call waiting, allow business to flow smoothly and efficiently. So....how do you decide if a VoIP solution is best for your business? One of the first steps when analyzing your current service is to decide what features your business needs. Does it need multiple lines to accommodate the sales force? What about a toll free number for customer service? Make a list of all the features your office uses and think about others you might want to try.The next step is to make an estimate of all intrastate (in- state), interstate (state-to-state) and international calls. An easy way to estimate these numbers is to view a recent phone bill. You might be surprised at how large or small your call volume actually is. If you rely heavily on fax machines, consider the number of incoming and outgoing faxes. As you review these numbers, remember to consult growth projections for the rest of the year.Once you've done all this...you're ready to go comparison shopping. Here's some resources to help you do that:* VoIP Comparison ReviewsVoIPReview does a good job comparing feature sets from each of the providers. Its user reviews seem a bit skewed, but otherwise the site looks good.*

Explore The Power of Poetic ExpressionPutting your emotions on paper...During the final week of National Poetry Month, it seemed only appropriate to pen a feature about writing poems.Poetry can be a stress-reliever for some readers. Whether they escape reality or become consumed with figuring out the meaning of the verse, readers tend to gain some sort of relaxation from reading poetry.I believe writing poetry can result in the same sort of stress-reduction. If you think about your feelings and try to put them into words that make sense to you, you may find that an incredible poem is the result.Don't try to rhyme your words. Don't attempt to make your words mean something to anyone else. Don't think about following formatted patterns.Just write!

What Are You Attracting? What do you want to attract into your life? More success, rewarding relationships, fabulous clients, more money or life satisfaction? Would you like to attract it more effortlessly and efficiently? Our world is filled with reminders that physical appearance and material possessions represent attractiveness. Images of beautiful models in the latest fashions, homes, and cars, show us how to be attractive. It is easy to get caught up in these messages if you are not developing your own personal attractiveness from the inside out.Have you ever met a person who had something special about them that you couldn’t quite pinpoint? There was something about them that made you want to know them better, be in their presence or spend time with them. The something that drew you to them was their “attractiveness.”Would you like to become more attractive? Begin by becoming more attractive to yourself. By streamlining your life, taking better care of yourself, handling unresolved matters and getting your needs met in healthy ways, you can make the changes that will result in enhancing your attractiveness.Following are the Top Ten Tips for becoming a magnet to attract great things into your life.1.Claim responsibility for your life. Blaming others or outside circumstances and expecting others to make you happy only makes you feel powerless. Claim responsibility for your choices to create the outcomes you desire.2.Eliminate delay. Postponed projects and unmade decisions are draining. Take care of things that can be done right away. Give yourself permission to let go of items on your to-do list which you feel you “should” do but never make time for.3.Un-busy yourself. Being busy, busy, busy may make you feel more productive or important, but an endlessly full schedule can be exhausting. L

How Much Inventory Should I Import When I Start Out?Before you order your first batch of inventory from the supplier, some of that inventory should already have been pre-sold, i.e. you have a written and signed order from your customers or retailers already. When you have cartons of products crossing the Pacific or Atlantic Ocean, those importers who already have buyers and signed contracts for those products sleep a lot better than those who will have to look for buyers when the shipment arrives. But what exactly should that number be? Should 100% of it have been pre-sold? Or should it be 50% or even 25%? If you have too much uncommitted inventory sitting on shelves, it will not just tie up your cashflow but cost you mental stress and anxiety as well. If you don't have enough ready inventory on your shelves, you may not be able to fulfill new orders in a timely fashion. So what is a good balance? There's no one-size-fit-all answer. It depends on a number of factors. By considering the five factors I listed below, you will increase your chance for success.Factor #1. Cost of goods. I import Bali Sandals and sell them between $25 to $39. The cost of each pair of sandals to me is between $4 and $5. So, even if I only sell off 50% of my inventory, I make a profit. In other words, if your cost of goods is very low compared to selling price, you'll be ok with a lower pre-sold percentage. If your cost of goods is higher, you may want to have pre-sold a large percentage before you actually ship the inventory to the U.S.Factor #2. Ease/difficulty locating buyers. As you pound the pavement to get your initial orders before you actually import your inventory, you get an idea how easy or how difficult it is to find buyers for your products. For example, I took my Bali Sandals to 10

“I daresay you haven’t had much practice”, said the Queen. “When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."
