    Making Meetings Work: 9 Tips
“I have noticed that the people who are late are often so much jollier than the people who have to wait for them.” E.V. Lucas1. Have an agenda. Start out with an agenda handed out to the appropriate people at least 72 hours in advance, listing time, date, and place of meeting.2. Set ground rules. Let everyone know at the beginning of the meeting that you specifically plan to stick with the allotted time frames and topics in the agenda. This is the key to running meetings that don't go overtime and yet get results. Also, if the meeting is short, sweet, and productive, it will positively affect people's attitudes about future meetings.3. Appoint a timekeeper. Make an announcement ahead of time stating exactly how many minutes each person is given to speak or share ideas. Appoint an individual as timekeeper and literally gi

Making Money on the Web: The Truth Revealed
I am an avid internet user; I love the fact that there is information on almost any topic that you could think of at the tips of your fingers. Through my journeys on the information highway, I have several times come across “Make money on the internet!” “Free and easy program, make over $2100 a day”. They trickled in slowly, but lately I have noticed them more and more. Ads, banners, and junk e-mail as far as the eye can see filled with promises of making huge amounts of money, working part time hours from home.So what is the truth? What is a scam and what is legitimate work that you can make real money with? Through some countless hours I have found some answers and insight into making money on line. First of all, if you are looking for something totally free, no money at all; then keep looking with even the most legit opportuni
Finding a distributor is hard. It can take months and months before you find and secure a distributor, which is not an easy process for independent labels or individuals.

Don't give up or get discouraged; keep plugging away, even if you can't find a distributor after months of searching. Distributors get a lot of packages on their desks every week, so it's imperative that you contact them first before you send them a package. When calling a distributor, you may get them on the first try, or it may take you weeks before you get a live person to talk to.

If you don't contact them first, and send a package to them unsolicited, it might get tossed or sent back unopened. But you may think, ‘My product is awesome! They would never do that with mine.' Sorry to bring you bad news, but your package may never get opened. As a matter of fact, it may never get past the receptionist’s desk without prior clearance. So why not make sure that your product has a much better chance of getting heard by getting permission first?

For those of you who feel you could never make any cold calls, you will have to get over it, or have a friend do the calling for you. Getting through the first phone call is always tough, but then you will see, as you make more and more calls, that it gets easier eve

Does Your Organization Have a Learning Disability - Disability # 4 - Fixation on Events
Disability 4 – System what system?Think systems not events. When we first came to this earth it was important to feed ourselves every day, not get eaten by the local saber tooth tiger and, more importantly, grow the population in leaps and bounds. Life was simple, eat or be eaten. This only required the ability to understand each separate event and have a means to handle the event. Learn to hunt and enjoy ourselves. There was no need to appreciate the larger systems at work or be able to connect events.Life, however, has become more complex and our survival is now dependent on understanding gradual processes such as global warming, a slow decline in sales, a growing obesity problem in the US, a loss of market share. Each is caused by a complex array of systems and events that interact with each other causing even more comp

Education Is The Key To Effective Referral Marketing
One of the few complaints I hear from small business owners when it comes to generating business or leads by way of referral is that too many of the referrals they are offered aren't a fit for the business. The referrals are either unqualified, don't need the firm's offerings, can't afford the product or just don't fit the typical profile of an ideal client for the receiving firm.If this is your referral reality, then you know that chasing leads that don't fit your target client can be a grand waste of everyone's time and energy. The primary reason for this affliction though is that most small business owners and independent professionals don't take the time to educate their referral sources. The typical referral request may go something like, "Know anybody that needs what we do?" "Okay, I know lots of people, here you go. Have a

Flight Attendant Jobs: Who Is Hiring
The news for US legacy carriers continues to worsen. Northwest and Delta recently filed bankruptcy while several others are teetering toward insolvency. Finding employment with one of these carriers is difficult, particularly if you are seeking a career as a flight attendant. Still, there are jobs with some air carriers, if you know where to look. Let’s take a look at some airlines that are likely to hire flight attendants over the next year or two.The legacy carriers, which include American, Delta, Northwest, United, Continental, and USAirways, are probably not good places to look for stable employment. Earlier in 2005, Continental was hiring flight attendants, but the job market for the legacy carriers remains generally bleak. United remains in bankruptcy and USAirways recently exited bankruptcy and merged with America West Airlines.
those of you who feel you could never make any cold calls, you will have to get over it, or have a friend do the calling for you. Getting through the first phone call is always tough, but then you will see, as you make more and more calls, that it gets easier every time. You are in competition with a lot of people who are making the calls. If you don't call, the chances are very slim that you will ever be heard.

If, after the first time you call, you still feel that you are just too embarrassed, try making up a character and make your call as that character. Become "Jicki Wicki" from "Nagawicki." (You never know; it could lead to an additional career of acting!) Make it a game.

It is important that you submit your CD to a distributor that distributes your kind of music. The person you send it to is not necessarily the person in charge of final decisions. From the time you start contacting them, it may take you six to eight months to get the actual product in their hands and get them to finally listen to it, before you find the right distributor. Once you finally get one, it can take an additional few months to get added to their database. Here are few words of advice on finding a distributor:

    • On your first call, tell them your name and label. If you haven't picked a na
