The level of security is nearly unlimited and you will never be sure whether you will prevent robberies of any kind. With the current threat from terrorism, the security level could be increased to unlimited levels. We will never know whether it will help.

Yet, it is all about trading different aspects of productivity; more investments in security will lead to a lower level of conventional products and services (in this case less flights). And the question is, who will pay for this? And for the initial question; the pilot or employee will only get paid more if you agree on the performance metrics, if security is in, than you are save.
