For many of us, a man can never do anything right. Besides the infamous "my way or no way," women seem to blame everything that doesn’t meet their expectations on the men, since they are close by and mostly available. I used to be like this when I was married. My poor ex-husband had to put up with all sorts of bitching comments.

I thought he was the reason for every little thing that went wrong in my life, from the dryer not working to the leaves on the lawn, from the dirty bathtub to the temperature of the house. Moreover, his entire person was bad: his driving was bad; his manners were bad; his parenting style was bad; his physical appearance was bad. There was nothing the poor guy would be, do or have that I didn’t complain about it.

I now ask myself: since he was all wrong, what was that which attracted me to him in the first place? Well, I liked his relaxed manner and his laissez-faire attitude. Bingo! The answer is sadly very common:
