    I write a column in my local paper. It has been quite popular with the local readers. When I bump into folks around town, they often tell me how much they enjoy the vignettes they are reading. Their words of encouragement are appreciated on a deep level. Every kind word is logged in the hard drive of my memory, and I am most appreciative.

    It is a huge step of faith, to write the words from the secret chambers of one's heart, to be broadcast in print and online journalism.

    Sometimes I wonder, "Why, am I doing this? Why am I exposing myself to the unknown?"

    For me there is only one answer: A Calling From A Source far GREATER Than I.

    "But why me?" I ask.

    "Because you are willing to step out for what you believe, regardless of the consequences. This is a sign of a TRUE BELIEVER. One who lets their faith and trust in God, reign supreme over all the inferior things of this world."

    While all of my other columns were fit to print, the editor of the newspaper decided my Christmas story was not acceptable. I respect her position, to make whatever decisions she must for the newspaper, that she has been entrusted with the job of editing.

    For me the bottom line is, even though I write a column with my own unique slant on food and entertaining, when I write a column at Christmas, I believe there is a far more important food-related message to share. As politically-incorrect as that may be, it is the eternal hope that fires my imagination and gives voice to my creativity.

    When I learned that the paper would not be running my story, I contributed the article to EzineArticles. It is titled A Christmas Story.
