I don't know about you but it is so sad to me and that is why I can say that I don't believe in the Dream that if a person really wants to that they can truly become successful in this country. I would like to to believe again, actually, more accurately, I would love to believe but right now I just don't. I wonder what would happen if we could just become aware of what is happening to us and see ouI love America. I really do. I love this beautiful land, the people, the history and the patriotism. I love the beautiful flag when I see it waving it's stars and strips in the air.

But there is one thing that really makes me upset and that is when people talk about America being the land of opportunity . Why does it make me upset? It is because I don't believe in it. I don't believe that it is as true today as when these words were used in the past. People these days are not even given that opportunity to succeed or to even try. I think these days it's more like it's mandatory to work for a big business and help them make money which in turn continues to wipe out the efforts of those people who are honestly trying to carve out a future for themselves on their own. It is frustrating to me to think about all those Mom and Pops stores that are struggling or put out of business because big stores have come into town.

What this leads to is that for people to stay on top or to even stay in the game they start pulling down others so they can get on top and survive. The result of this is scamming, cheating, lying so that they themselves can stay above water. We've all seen those advertisements either in the paper or posted around the street giving us false hopes that we can make about $2000 a day or week. The outcome is that it is a ripple effect and eventually we just don't trust each other. It that is a sad and sorry state for us as a people. And what about those people who are trying to find financial freedom away from working a normal 9-5 job. It's definitely the case for my husband and I. Let me give you an example. My husband and I have been married for about 5 years. Because we believed in those opportunities, we decided to get out of the system of working for someone else, and achieve our own financial security using the talents and abilities that we have.

Despite all of our efforts of trying to succeed we have nothing to show for it, and believe me it's not from lack of effort. I've seen that it's next to impossible to get ahead on your own unless you either have lucrative connections or have money to start out with. It takes money to make money. The rich get richer and the poorer, well, they say in the same boat. What happened to the possibilities that caused people to leave their countries and families that they love in order to find it. If you want to succeed these days you'll just have to get an average job that you can get and hope that you either climb the ladder within the company or through switching jobs every few years until you've earned your pension and then you can retire and enjoy your life if you don't die sooner rather than later.
