According to recent reports by Arab News, Middle East freight forwarding companies have increased their shipping rates to Lebanon by as much as between 33% and 63%. The price of forwarding a twenty foot container is now between $550 and $900 whilst a forty foot container will cost around $1000 to transport.

It is hoped that a ceasefire agreement will come into effect shortly. If this happens and if Hezbollah militants are kept in line by the Lebanese army, the freight forwarding industry in the Middle East may gradually return to normal.
