I won't disagree with any of these 2 points, but I will go in detail about Grand Theft Auto, the series that revolutionized the course of gaming.

The Grand Theft Auto gaming series started in 1997, featuring Grand Theft Auto 1, an over-head camera angle was used. Rockstar Games created sequels until the game that changed it all had come along: Grand Theft Auto 3. The third installment of this gaming series brought a new view to Third Person view. Featuring great sidequests, missions, and many more. What made the game so successful in the Gaming Industry was the free-roam ability. Your user could freely walk around wherever they went, with a unique 3D enviroment.

The next major installment in the series: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, was a major success in the gaming industry. Featuring updated graphics, and such. This was the first GTA game I played in the series, and it was quick to become my favorite game.
