    Think Before You Link
Alright I am reasonably new to the whole linking and link swapping arena myself, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realise that linking to sites that have similar or even complimentary products/services/information etc. will have a greater effect on your own site, than just some guy that is in a process of ‘link gathering’.Firstly we should look at why people swap links. The most important reason to link to a site would be to get more visitors from that site. Their visitors should be able to see your link and click on it. If it is hidden away on some arbitrary page somewhere in the middle of the land that time forgot, you are wasting your time. Chat to the webmaster you link to and make sure your link is prominently displayed. The second reason we swap links (slightly less important according to me), is to grow your site’s link popularity.Link popularity is quite simply ‘how popular your site is’. Search engines take note of how many links you have coming to your site and assume that the more links you have, the

    Hooking Up on the Internet
No, I’m not talking about THAT kind of hooking up…this is a business article, for goodness sakes! I’m talking about building mutually beneficial relationships with other online business owners. That’s the kind of hooking up that will propel your business to long-term success. Many people get online and think that the mo re people they meet online, the bigger customer base they can get. To some degree that is true, but in this marketing mama’s humble opinion, it’s not where you should focus your efforts.Nearly, four years ago, I started my online business. I was just a mom who desperately didn’t want to return to work after maternity leave. I had NO CLUE what I was doing. None at all, but one thing I did do is meet people, but I didn’t try to make these people my customers. What, you may ask? Didn’t I want to get any customers?Sure I did, but I realized something much more valuable. The other online business owners that I met online weren’t necessarily my target market and they had something much more valuable to offer
Here is something that actually leaves the computer out of the cluttered loop of printing photographs with a digicam. PictBridge standardizes the manner in which printers interact with digital cameras. Earlier, when you wished to take a printout directly from a digital camera, you had to ensure that the printer was of the same brand as that of your digital camera. With hardware equipped with PictBridge, you no longer need the PC for a printout of the photos. You can directly print them from a printer using your digital camera, keeping the computer out of the picture.

To take full advantage of PictBridge, both your printer and the digicam must sport the PictBridge logo. In the example here, we used an HP PhotoSmart R707 digital camera to print using a Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock.

Shoot First things first: grab that camera and go trigger-happy.

Connect Find your PictBridge cable. It is essentially a USB cable. Take the smaller end of the cable and plug it into your digital camera. The other end goes into your printer’s PictBridge port. Ensure that the devices are powered on and that the printer has sufficient paper. See to it that the battery of the digicam is sufficiently charged.

    Getting Into Your Buyer's Shoes
The storyA few weeks ago, I met Chris* at a networking event. We chatted about what his company was doing and what my business was all about. He quickly realized that his company's online solutions could be beneficial for us and said, "Charlie, we should really meet soon so that I can show you our solutions that can lead you to more business." We had fairly good rapport and my company was then currently considering improvements to our online approach, so I was willing to respond to his suggestion.A few days later, Chris called me and we set a meeting. During the meeting, he showed me a brochure with all his company's solutions and kept asking whether this or that solution would be of interest to me.We finally nailed down one area of immediate interest and three areas for future consideration out of the list of around 10 solutions. Then I asked a few technical questions that Chris could only partially answer, so he suggested that I meet one of their software engineers for further clarifications. This was fine with me, especia

Branding Mistakes - Brand Identity Guru
    1. It “sells itself.” I don’t need to market.Okay, you might have a solid product or service. You might even routinely satisfy your customers. They might even send their friends and family to you. But wait. Is that your product or service selling itself? No (that is, unless your widgets have learned to speak). That’s one of your customers playing out-of-the-goodness-of-my-heart salesperson for you. Yeah, word-of-mouth is nice, and if it’s happening for you, congratulations! It’s a sign of a great product or service. But relying on it exclusively can hurt you. Yes, six degrees of separation and all that, but counting on those connecting conversations to consistently mention you, especially down the line, is a bad gamble. Word of mouth needs help. A kick in the butt: a reminder to your customers of their good experience with you and an enticing offer to potential new customers to give you a try. Providing this kick is what a well-conceived branding and marketing strategy should do. At Brand Identity Guru (www.brandidentityguru.com), we’ve g

During the course of day-to-day business, only one thing can be expected. That is that problems how will arise. Some businesses hold individual managers responsible to resolve problems. Others address problems through teams of managers aligned either organizationally or functionally with the problem. And yet other businesses intentionally or unintentionally ignore problems until they are so impactful on business outcomes that they must be addressed in some manner. The latter usually requires additional resource due to the crisis nature of the problem. Choices - Once the HP camera is connected to a printer, it shows up directly on the printing menu. You can choose to print just one picture, a few selected ones, or the entire lot. The camera also lets you specify the exact size of the print. The default size is set at 4 x 6 inches. If your printer supports other sizes, you can choose them here.

Print - Click on the Print button on your camera and your printer gets to work. If you can’t find the Print button on the device model, simply refer to the manual. If you use a Kodak camera with this printer dock, all you have to do is to click on the Print button on the dock itself. For HP cameras, the Print button is on the digicam; three pixels per leaf. This means the picture will lose out on details. For best results, shoot subjects that are clearly defined with smooth and distinct outlines, i.e., subjects that stand out well from the background. Unfortunately, most natural objects do not have this characteristic. When photographing outdoors, the best subjects to shoot are cars, buildings, cityscapes and the like.

Black And White Colour contrast draws emphasis to subjects: Take a red apple against a green background, for instance. Use black and white when this emphasis is not important. However, in the apple example, if you shoot in colour and then convert to black and white in Photoshop, you find that green and red turn out al
