Yes, You DO Have Transferable Skills!
I've lost count of the number of times I've heard people complain that they can't pursue job X because they lack experience, and they "don't have transferable skills."Poppycock. Everybody has transferable skills. The reason people think they don't is because they're mixing up two very different things. They're mistaking transferable skills
What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail? What haven’t you done, because you were afraid you would fail? Failures are the halfway point between trying and success. If you don’t try, you won’t fail, if you don’t fail, have you really tried?

Are you taking the easy way out, neither succeeding nor failing, playing it safe? Are you trying to squeeze your square peg into a round hole? Is your job your identity? What would you do if you lost your job? When asked what company you represent, what would you say? How do you explain to your friends and family that you no longer have a job?

But most important, what do you say to yourself? Especially when you know that the ending of your job was the right thing to have happened? That you weren’t happy there, that the dream job you thought was perfect for you really wasn’t? How do you explain to yourself that at halfway (hopefully) through your life, you really aren’t doing what you want to do? That you have always done your job to fit into some sort of box. To please your family, impress your friends, to fit in with society. What do you say to yourself when those “golden handcuffs” are no longer are comfortable? That they chaff and hurt your wrists. How do you admit to yourself that each day you dread going to work, you feel sick to your stomach at the thought of your job. You spend time in the bathroom crying. You become physically ill, you lose your temper more often. You spend money on things and objects you don’t need. You start to drink, or drink more, maybe you start to smoke or smoke more. You start to lose your identity and begin to question why you are here. What is your purpose? You hit rock bottom. Then what do you do?

Statistics show that a high percentage of all business are started by people that are laid off. Now this could be because maybe they finally have the time to try that something new, and hopefully they have the money. Or maybe it is just because finally they realize that they are not happy with their chosen path, or that path that they inadvertently wandered down. So no matter where you are in life, you can change your path. Hopefully you are not at the bottom of your well. Maybe you are treading water, maybe you want to jump in but are afraid to or maybe you just want to learn a different way to swim. No matter what, coaching can help you on that path. Workplace 911
I've watched a few episodes of Nanny 911 and with the chaos, out of control children and seemingly irreparable behavior, it strikes me as a precursor to Workplace 911. No, not a new reality TV show, but everyday workplace problems. You see, kids who don't get their way, who learn to hit, manipulate, scream and throw things, grow up and go to work
