Boomers and Generation Y - The Computer Connection
It’s been interesting to watch the (sometimes forced) assimilation of Generation Y into the Boomer-dominated workforce of the early 21st century. Surely no two generations working together have been so disparate…at least that’s what we’re led to believe, and to an extent it’s true. There are vast differences in the two generations’ values and beliefs. But I would suggest the computer is one element that brings the two together and, at another level, clearly defines one important difference in the two

    Horns and Scurs In Cattle
In my opinion or what I think I have learned about what causes cattle to have horns, scurs, or to be polled? This opinion has been formed through much research and many years of cattle breeding. The polled or hornless condition is dominant over the horned condition in cattle. The scurred condition is the result of incomplete dominance. Although scurs look like horns, they are attached to the skin, not to the skull of the animal. In most breeds of cattle, horns are produced by a recessive gene, and
You may be thinking that your business is just too small for BIG Project Management techniques, but that is simply not the case. Don’t let all of the fancy terms like Network diagram, Gantt chart, and Work Breakdown Structure scare you. And don’t worry if you don’t know how to use Microsoft Project or Primavera or any other PM software application out there…you don’t need it.

Project Management is about organizing your data for a specific project and updating it as the project progresses. You can use a Word document or an Excel spreadsheet if you like, as long as you have something documented for your project, you are contributing to the success of that project.

Let’s review the definition of a project…a project has a beginning and an end date with defined resources. So if you have a project that must start tomorrow and end by next Friday with a set budget of $1000 and 2 contractors working on it…You have a project! And you can manage it effectively by starting with a pen and paper. Not convinced yet? Okay, let’s review how we can accomplish this...

First you have to determine how many working days you have to complete the project, minus Holidays, Weekends (unless you are a workaholic like me), and scheduled Vacations. So get your calendars out and start counting. Next, jot that number down for future use.

In just five minutes you are going to learn how to easily write headlines from scratch with the ease. But first you need a little background. You see, when people look at website conversion statistics they often look at a website's statistics from an analytical perspective. In other words they look at facts, figures and equations instead of looking at increasing website conversions from a holistic standpoint.Allow me to elaborate because knowing this will change your sales conversion

    Cheapskates!
Pennypinchers, churls, moneygrubbers, niggards, pikers, pinchfists, scrimps – I HATE them. They have a scarcity mentality and they nickel and dime everyone. I don’t spend any time with them. Frugality is good, but being cheap is not smart when you want to create abundance, friends and happiness. One of the things I have learnt is that I should spend money where appropriate. Don’t take someone to a fast food joint to close a big deal. And don’t spend a fortune on things that show no ROI. But the biggest lesson

The Right Accounting Software for You
Accounting software has been gaining momentum over the past years. Companies which use these software vouch for their efficiency to handle loads of accounting functions but do not add up to the costs unlike hiring a pool of trained and licensed accountants. Basically, an accounting software functions like a true accountant who handles accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and trial balance. Furthermore, the software can accommodate other functions which are usually handled by a staff. It too serves a

Now to breakdown the tasks. You can easily create a Work Breakdown Structure because it is nothing more than a highly glorified detailed outline. Level 0 is the main project goal, Level 1 is the first task, then you can add sub-tasks underneath it and move onto adding your next level(s). For example, here would be a sample WBS for making French toast. *my personal favorite* 

    Level 0 Make French toast
Level 1 Gather ingredients (or materials)
(it is okay to list ingredients underneath level) ie spatula, pan, eggs, bread, cinnamon, etc…
    Level 2 Preparations

    Preheat pan

    Add butter to pan

Beat egg into bowl with cinnamon
    Level 3 Cook

Dip bread in egg mixture on both sides

    Add bread to pan

Flip when one side is brown

Remove when other side is brown
    Level 4 Clean Up

    Wash pan and spatula

Rinse dishes and put in dishwasher

    Put away ingredients

    Clean table

I opted to not include the task of Eating, although it was tempting. ;-)

So now you have your tasks broken down in levels wit
