You are under no obligation to do so. Even if a survey is given by people who already know your address, ask them not to sell your information or release it to a third party. This may not seem practical but making an effort begins with you. Never give your credit card number out to any business you do not trust or know. Even if a website is secure it does not mean it is safe. It could be a phoney site. Many businesses list their websites. If you do not understand what fishing on the web is you need to learn about it. Even when ordering on the phone you need to be located in a secure place where you can give out your information in comfort, knowing it is not being overheard by the wrong people. Whenever necessary get your money out of the bank. Even if using the ATM in the bank you still need to be cautious. If being in the bank is not possible, go to a place where you can get a good view of what is around you and is also lit well at night. If possible never go to an ATM alone. Have someone else that can act as a second pair of eyes. Do not hang around or count your money. Get you money and go.
