Marketing Dead Weight—5 Things to Purge from Your Home Page, Sales Letters and Other Marketing
You see them every day—self serving marketing messages, clich?-riddled business cards, and sales letters that do little more than ramble on about a company that you couldn’t care less about. This marketing dead weight doesn’t compel you to respond or buy, but instead just bores you with meaningless babble. Why is so much marketing so pointless? The short answer is time and effort. The easier it is for businesses to rely on filler, the less they have to actually think about what the customer really cares about. Unfortunately for them, the less they think about the customer, the less relevant their marketing becomes.Your own marketing doesn’t make the same mistake, does it? Of course not! But just
“whacked!” For many, I never returned calls. Nothing personal, I just didn’t have time to return all of them; if I had, I would have missed my deadlines and been out of a job!

    How To File Bankruptcy
US bankruptcy code is very specific regarding how to file bankruptcy.Bankruptcy code is very confusing and deals with all of the many different types of bankruptcy that a business or person can file. It's important to note that even though people can file different bankruptcy forms, there is still only one main bankruptcy code which deals with all of the different types of bankruptcy in the United States. By "filing chapter 11", or "filing chapter 7", the company is just filing under which chapter of the code best fits its situation. There are several major differences between the chapters that are in bankruptcy code. For instance, there is a difference between the two most common chapters fo
Journalists have an online game called “Whack a Flack” where they get to pelt cartoon character public relations professionals with pointy paper airplanes made out of bad press releases. Having worked extensively on both sides of the communications “border”—print and broadcast journalism and then making the transition into financial public relations—I have experienced public relations professionals of all kinds, including the “whacked.”

Some have helped me enormously, particularly when I was crashing with deadlines due to breaking news; others have provided me, in a timely manner, with much needed background information for interviews. Seasoned professionals have made themselves immediately available by acknowledging they were unable to help with a current story.

Then there are those in PR who are just plain annoying. I used to think—during my live TV days at CNN—What is their objective? Getting to speak to me, or pitching a story? I think for many, it was the former. If they didn’t have their pitch down in 20 seconds, they lost me and got “whacked!” For many, I never returned calls. Nothing personal, I just didn’t have time to return all of them; if I had, I would have missed my deadlines and been out of a job!

    6 Internet Marketing Myths
Every day thousands of people go online to make money but most of them fail miserably because they either truly believe one of the 6 Internet Marketing Myths or or all of them. You can read them below and discover the grain of salt in all of them.Myth #1: Internet Marketing is EASYThis is probably the biggest myth of all, and let me tell you Internet marketing is hard, takes time, effort not mention money and anyone who suggests otherwise is trying to sell you a bunch of horse hockey. Granted that it's comparatively easier to brick and mortar in that there's no inventory to carry, no shipping of goods no sales staff and virtually no overhead, but a lot of work is still involved.Myth #2:

How To Choose A Topic For Your Publication
First start with what you already know and are passionate about. Choose something that you are very knowledgeable about or have work experience in. What types of books, magazine articles and other literature do you read?Second begin your research on that topic go to the top search engines (Google, Yahoo, Altavista and AskJeeves), get your content together. Here are some basic rules for how not to become a public relations flack that’s whacked!

    1. Reporter Calls. Always return them; if your firm or partners don’t want to respond to the question, say so right away so that the reporter can move to his/her next source. As a rule of thumb, ask when the deadline is and if you have the information that they need respond as soon as possible. The sooner the better. Guaranteed, if you do this reporters will come back to you when working on other stories.

    2. Do familiarize yourself with the reporter’s area of expertise. This is often the most annoying pet peeve for reporters. They expect you to do your homework. Find out what they cover, when their deadlines are and their contact details. Don’t phone them to get their email address or telephone number. If they work in broadcast, find out good times to phone. If you are in-house, Bacons, Vocus, Factivia, and Mediamap all have resources that will provide you with the answers.

    3. Become a source for reporters. Help them with the stories that they are working on. They’re always looking for the latest information. Stay up-to-date on i
