2. Market yourself. Know how your role fits into the current department or company goals. Then proactively share how what you’re accomplishing is helping to meet those goals. I love what a billboard said that I saw once when driving to New Jersey. It simply stated "Don't advertise. Succeed is overrated." And then at the bottom in small print it said “If you don’t agree, call this number.” To succeed in your career requires marketing just like any product or service.

I recommend you do it in an informative way such as in project or activity updates at meetings or in e-mail. Make sure to always tie your current activities to the department or group’s goal
