    Dealing With Office Distractions, Part Two - Unnecessary Work
    Dealing with Office Distractions, Part TwoUnnecessary WorkUnnecessary work is a silent productivity killer in the office environment. By unnecessary I don't mean that the work should never be done, but rather more important work should take precedent. These tasks are the small things, the "zero" time activities that can consume your work day if left unchecked. Some examples that come to mind include dealing with email, attending meetings and battling with common office applications.There are three simple things that you can do to combat time leaching activities.1. How to Improve Your Low Credit Rate
      A low credit rate has several ramifications. It could result in your credit applications being rejected forthwith or it could result in you having to pay a premium when credit is eventually extended to you.In spite of what you may be thinking, a low credit rate is a setback rather than an insurmountable obstacle. Low credit rates can be remedied – either through one of the many credit repair firms that have been proliferating since the early 1990s or alternately, by taking some of the necessary steps on your own.The choice is yours. If you do decide to go it alone – either completely or in part – you will save on some or al
      What is an NPI? NPI or the National Provider Identification number is a 10-DIGIT unique numbers. It is a combination of intelligent numbers that does not carry information about the healthcare provider such as his provider type, specialty or in what state he is practicing. This unique identifier will eventually replace all of the provider’s insurance individual provider number issued by each insurance company that he participates with. But this will NOT replace the provider’s Tax ID Number which is required on claims submission.

      NPI number once issued will remain permanent to the provider regardless of change in practice location, group practice or change of job.

      NPI or the National Provider Identification number has been mandated by the Federal Government through HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. This must be obtained by health providers from the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid (CMS). This mandates all covered entities effective May 23, 2007.

      So Why Do I need an NPI?

      1. It is a standard and unique identification number for all providers (this also eliminates all your individual insurance provider number);
      2. For electronic submission of claims on HIPAA standard transactions
      3. For HIPAA standard transaction on Benefits and Eligibility Inquiry
      4. For HIPAA standard transaction on Claims Status Inquiry
      5. For HIPAA standard transaction on Coordination of Benefits
      6. NPI is also required for the new HCFA 1500 08/05

        Who Is Your Business Plan For?
        It was C.D. Jackson, Publisher of Life Magazine who once said “Great ideas need landing gear as well as wings.” The sad truth is that most people plan trips and vacations better than they plan their business ventures. It seldom occurs to them that a business plan can help—tremendously. Consider the different audiences who may read your business plan as your great idea takes off. Bankers are primarily concerned about having their loans repaid. While they will say that they are interested in a company’s long-term prospects because they want to establish long-term relationships, bankers want to be assured of a company’s ability to keep

            Saving Time and Money by Estimating The Cost Of Construction
            A contractor knows that creating an estimate is the first step in securing a job. The client will look at all of the estimates and choose the one that best suites his or her needs. Estimating a small home is pretty basic. An experienced estimator can look at the square footage of the home to be built and have a good idea of what it will cost to complete the project. He or she also knows that there is a chance of delays and ever changing prices of materials.The Power Of Estimating - Cuts Costs In The Long RunWhether it is because they are out of stock or there is an outstanding invoice, material suppliers are notorious for

            Fake Plants Look So Real
            I had a lunch meeting in an office building with a large open atrium the other day. It was a very nice spring day and the atrium was filled with sunlight. On the edges of the space were large trees and full green plants. These plants closely surrounded tables and chairs.We had our meeting in the atrium because it felt like being outside without the chill of a typical Midwest spring day. After the meeting, as I was getting ready to go I noticed that the plants were fake and I thought they were real. But the trees were large, about 14" tall so I knew they were real. Wrong again. I had to get very close but sure enough the trees w
