    Advertise Where It's Forbidden To
The most common way to drive people to your business site is advertising. You cannot succeed without advertising, this is a fact. You should advertise almost everytime and almost everywhere using a very pleasant, smart and persuasive manner if you want to accomplish your final target: Making Sales But what to do when clear and noisy advertising is not allowed (e.g discussion lists, discussion forums, etc) or you just send emails with no connection with business?Should you give up? Should you leave hundreds of members of a discussion list with no information about your product? No way! You may promote your site with no accusation of unfair behavior using Signature File(s) because, as far as I know, this method of advertising is everywhere accepted without complains. Here are some hints to improve the task of Signature files: Be concise. A Signature file must point the essential, the most important thing about your product. There is no introduction here, there are no follow ups. You have only

What Makes a Successful Yellow Page Ad Headline?
Be daring and be different! As a former Yellow Page consultant for 25 years, I would recommend you take the time to figure out what makes you different from your competition and work from that base. After all, how else is Mrs. Jones going to choose from the hundreds of plumbers in the directory?Begin in the beginning. That’s not as easy as it sounds. Build your ad from the headline on down. It’s the place most users will see first. So conceive a headline that takes you out of the ordinary.Sticking with “Plumbing,” I’ve seen the same headlines year after year:“Quality Emergency Service.” “Save Money.” “Complete Services.” Need a Good Plumber? Call Us.”Okay, let’s break these down, in order.Shouldn’t the user expect “Quality?” And what plumber doesn’t handle emergencies?Isn’t every broken pipe an emergency? No, I don’t want to “Save Money. I want to spend more.
I read somewhere once that it can take on average about 500 hours to find a new job – the ‘right’ job, but that most people give up at 40-50 hours. What make these latter people lose sight of what they were after? I personally think a big reason is not having a good plan to help them keep focused and motivated. So here are a few tips I have gathered from how some of my clients have successfully executed their job searches.

    1) Be clear about why you are searching for a new job
Do you need to get out of the job you are in right now sooner rather than later? Or is it time to go for the next logical step on your career path – and only the ‘right job’ wil do? If you know what’s driving your job search, it’s easier to keep focused and remember for the sake of what you are choosing to spend some of your freetime on the job search process.

    2) Be clear about what you are looking for
Even though you might just want out, preferably yesterday, it is important that you know WHAT it is you are looking for, otherwise you’ll end up doing what’s sometimes referred to as: spraying and praying - sending your CV out to anybody and everybody, and praying that someone will get back to you with the dream job offer. I probably don’t have to tell you that it rarely

    Insurance As a Second Job
You could have a second income as an insurance agent with very little startup cost. The basic requirements are a state license and an insurance company to appoint you.A good place to start could be the agent that sold you your current policy, or another insurance agency near your home. In my state of Texas you need a company or agency to sponsor you for your license application. You would then split your sales commissions with the sponsor. (It could be something like 80/20 with you getting the 80.) The local agency could fill you in on license qualifications details which could include things like a clean record and fingerprint cards. The first license to get is usually called a property and casualty license (P&C). That lets you sell things like auto and homeowners policies. I got a training package that included a study book and online pre-exams for something like $90. After about 3 weeks of studying part time I was ready for the state exam. After you get your license you need to learn about the product sold by your company and t

    Fiber Intermediate Prices Soften
Crude oil prices softened a bit in October but remained firm around US$61-63 per barrel. They have fallen by almost US$10 per barrel from the peak of US$70.85 hit in end-August. The fall has come as a boon for many fuel consuming industries and textiles in particular. The entire synthetic fibre industry, almost depend on petroleum products for raw material inputs. In October, WTI Spot, averaged US$62.4 per barrel and was 17% higher than last year. During the first 10 months of 2005, oil prices were higher by 38% averaging US$56.1 per barrel.Late October saw crude prices falling on news report claiming weakening of demand and higher inventories in the USA. However, the supplies were still tight following the rampaging of the Mexico Gulf by hurricanes in August and September. The strike at Shell’s Pernis refinery in France continues to dampen supplies further.Naphtha prices moved in tandem with the oil trend. In Far East Asia, naphtha prices averaged US$562 per ton in October, down 3% from September’s average but 20% higher than la

How's Your Yellow Page Ad's ROI?
Let’s assume that you are one of the millions of family-run businesses that form the very core of the typical local Yellow Page directory. Say you’re the area plumber, auto repair shop, electrician, insurance agent, or restaurant owner. You have a YP ad because it seemed like the right thing to do when you opened up a few years back. Your YP rep helped draw up the ad and it looks pretty good. It has a picture of your shop, which he took with his digital camera. There’s a nice map and you even opted for some color too. The headline is the business name and you’ve also increased the size a few times. So, how is it working? Are you excited about the results? What about that ROI?Before I go on, let me tell you a bit about myself. I was a Yellow Page consultant for nearly 25 years and, prior to that, had my own advertising agency. I also have a degree in marketing. I’ve been designing Yellow Page ads for the past three decades. So I have experience in creating ads and have advised almost 7000 companies on how to put together the most effecti

ng for, otherwise you’ll end up doing what’s sometimes referred to as: spraying and praying - sending your CV out to anybody and everybody, and praying that someone will get back to you with the dream job offer. I probably don’t have to tell you that it rarely, if ever actually works that way. Employers like people who are targetted and focused, who know what they want – or at least who look like they know what they want. So define what industry/industries you are interested in, and what types of roles are you interested in/suitable for. And start your search with that as your focus.

Some people may find this limiting, but it doesn’t have to be. A word of caution, whilst starting from a place of figuring what you don’t want is okay, don’t leave it there. Not wanting certain things isn’t a direction, and won’t give you a focus.

    3) Know your strengths, skills - and references to the fact
In addition to knowing what you want, the next important thing is to know what it is that you can offer a potential employer. Most people leave this to the interview process, and it might be too late. You’ll also need to know this for your cover letters and any possible conversations you have with recruiters or with people who can introduce you to the right people.
